Active shooter response (Direct to Threat= D2T) by law enforcement to an active shooter incident

Direct Approach Tactical Solutions employees have conducted active shooter hands-on training for colleges/universities police departments, local police and sheriff’s departments for the past 9 years. This approach is in line with nationally recognized active shooter response protocols, and is designed for the armed officer/ security only. Site assessment of businesses and educational facilities (SAF)
This tier level focuses on the physical assessment of the facility being toured with the assistance of the on-site staff. The assessment will focus on ways to enhance security through low cost initiatives and procedures as well as confirmation of procedures and established safety measures already in place.
Varies depending upon location and size of the facility, TBD based on size of the building/complex
Full scale exercise (FTX)
The culmination of all training: The full-scale exercise, facilitated by county Emergency Management Agencies, local law enforcement and first responders, drives home the need for prior preparation before the event. How the agencies respond with the common nexus of mitigating the turmoil caused by the suspect(s) is paramount in incident preparation.
The full-scale exercise allows first responders from the community, and the schools/businesses they serve, the ability to practice and learn valuable lessons from the scenario based training. Utilizing the resources and personnel in mitigating the incident and having the ability to exercise what has been trained is an invaluable tool in preparing for the worst-case scenario.
