This course is intended to enhance the tactics learned from Basic SWAT. This course is 4 days and focuses on the use of equipment and hostage rescue tactics. As the basics have been learned and tested we will now add equipment usage that will increase officer safety; ballistic shields, armored vehicle response, mirrors, pole cameras and/or robotics.
This course will be held mostly in the training venues and out of the classroom settings. Very similar to the Basic SWAT course this course will end with two scenarios meant to test the tactics learned during the week. This course will enhance the tactics of seasoned to the newest tactical operator on your team.
The course requirements will be the responsibility of the host agency, and will include:
- Sufficient area to perform the practical exercises
- Classroom with power point projector and speaker system
- Adequate seating for the size of class enrolled
- Restroom facilities
Students should bring all issued tactical equipment to include:
- Helmet
- Tactical vest
- Tactical response uniform
- Boots, gloves
- Primary and secondary weapon systems
- Protective masks
- Eye and ear protection
- 500 rounds for primary/secondary weapon systems
